A few years ago I went to traffic school because I got nabbed by a speed camera in Scottsdale. At said traffic school, I was informed by the teacher that automated enforcement cameras DO NOT generate money, and that in fact the city using them looses money on their operation. Of course I didn't believe him for a second. Now metro Phoenix is lousy with things in a desperate attempt to bring the AZ budget out of the red. I recently discovered an organization of like minded individuals called Camera Fraud that's putting together legislation to rein in the abuse of these terrible machines. Even if you're not in the PHX area give them a visit, for if you don't have the cameras yet you probably will soon.

To explain why i haven't been posting as much as i probably should... There's been a large shake-up at my day job that has caused me to have more of a limited access to the inter-webs. Hopefully by next week things will be settled, and i can return to a more regular posting schedule. Also, the new Agent cartoon is coming along nicely. The Government has declared the border a "Constitution Free Zone". I can kind-of understand that... we need to be able to search for harmful things and people coming into the country. The rub is that they have also declared that the "border" extends 100 MILES inland from the actual hard border. Not only does this mean my home town of Tucson is now a "Constitution Free Zone", but so are the majority of 10 most populous cities in the US! Call congress and tell them how you feel about living where the constitution no longer applies... if you're reading this, you probably do.

I've discussed with other people who have as well, and we all agree that an obvious sign of a such a state is the presence of armed military on the streets. Two major, possibly historical, events are currently under way, and neither of which are the Olympics (I'm talking to you media!). First, the US backed nation of Georgia attacked the Russian backed secessionist region of South Ossetia, which in turn caused Russia to fall on Georgia like an anvil. Second, a massive naval armada is heading towards the persian gulf, including one British and three US carrier groups. How are the 2 related? It's all about Iran. Russia, an ally of Iran, knows of the neo-cons' desire to attack Iran, which is why they have a carrier group in the region as well. The neo-cons think they can handicap Russia by stirring up a mess in Georgia, leaving them free to start the war in Iran. This might be the beginning of WW3 with the US, Britain, and Israel on one side and Russia, China, and Iran on the other. I hope I'm wrong.

He recently had his press corps shanghaied so he could attend a secret meeting, and appointed a Walmart apologist as his economic policy director. Now that he's 'in' is he letting his guard drop a little too much? The bottom line is he's a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Legislators have used semantic tricks to get past the fact that the 'Orphan Works Bill' is ILLEGAL. It forces artists/designers/photographers to register all their work in privately owned databases, which is a no-no according to international law. Major forces are at work to make sure this year's Democratic National Convention (DNC) ends in disaster. On the 'right' there's Rush's Operation Chaos calling for a reenactment of the riots and unrest that plagued the '68 DNC in Chicago. On the 'left' there's Recreate 68 (which i have no doubt is COINTELPRO), who just happened to win the lottery for permission to protest this year's DNC (yes, a lottery to see who gets the PRIVILEGE of protesting) calling for the exact same thing! I had to unexpectedly switch web hosts because Dreamhost thought i was spamming and subsequently shut me down. That was bad enough, but to make things worse, they left me in limbo for nearly 3 weeks as to whether i was going to get my site back or not. The funny thing about this whole story is I WASN'T SPAMMING! at any rate, I'm on a new host and things are back up and running... EXCEPT the contact form. Congress yet again yielded to pressure from the president and passed a bill that expands the government's ability to spy domestically (that means on you and me). With such incredible power over our privacy they must have put someone of high moral standing in charge of the program, right? Wrong... instead we get Alberto "I can't recall" Gonzales at the controls. Of course, the REAL reason this heinous bill was blasted through congress just before the Aug. recess was to legalize the wiretapping that Bush has been doing all along, thus taking the steam out of any attempt to use it as grounds for impeachment.

In an effort to crack down on whistle blowers, Uncle Sam has been monitoring phone numbers called by reporters. Luckily an understandably upset whistle blower informed some of the surveilled reporters at ABC News. Without a free press we will cease to have a free country.
